His career saw him enjoy a four-time -winning tenure with , followed by a spell at Juventus, a brief return to Old Trafford and to the Saudi Pro League with Al Nassr. Throughout his illustrious club and international career, during which he has netted over 900 goals and won numerous awards, Ronaldo's fame has extended beyond the realm of football. For instance, on Wednesday, a fan managed to bypass security during Portugal's match against Germany, storming the pitch and getting close to the 40-year-old before being escorted away by security personnel. As a result, the Al Nassr forward has frequently enlisted the services of a bodyguard. Hichman, who served in this role for four years, has provided insight into the types of threats he would typically handle and his remuneration to the tune of nearly £1000 per day.
"Our work depends on the client's profile. In the case of Cristiano, with whom I worked for four years, his profile wasn't high-risk because people didn't want to kill him, and he didn't receive death threats," Hichman revealed to . "He was threatened by fans or people who wanted to rob him."
Hichman, aged 36, then elaborated on the tactics he used to ensure the safety of Ronaldo, his partner Georgina Rodriguez and their children.
"We always have to know where we're going, who will be there, and have clear entry and exit points, as well as contact points," he added. "We must always be aware that our lives could be at risk. We have to be willing to protect a person, and sometimes we have to give our lives to protect them. If I have to use weapons, I will use them. The most important thing is having the ability to think quickly, solve problems, and remain calm in difficult situations."
Reflecting on his time safeguarding the superstar, Hichman claimed that he earned approximately £850 per day providing security for Ronaldo. Despite no longer working for him, he maintains a positive relationship with him.
"He is the best boss I've ever had," Hichman declared. "We have a good relationship. Working with him wasn't like working with someone threatened with death or kidnap. We had some silly incidents with paparazzi or crazy fans, but nothing major."
Aside from making life challenging for photographers and striving to keep Ronaldo's family away from the public gaze as much as possible, Hichman disclosed that he never dealt with serious threats to the 40-year-old.
There have been numerous instances of fans storming the pitch, as happened during Portugal's Nations League match this week, in an attempt to get a close-up view of Ronaldo or try to snap a selfie with him. However, in April, reported that Ronaldo had increased security measures following threats made against his family on social media, allegedly originating from a group based in Saudi Arabia, where he currently resides.
