Naga Munchetty was forced to step in for her BBC Breakfast co-star Matt Taylor on Friday after he suffered a technical blunder while presenting the weather. Fans pointed out that the "W" was missing from the weather map and so the likes of Glasgow and Newcastle were spelt incorrectly.
Turning to her co-star Charlie Stayt, Naga stepped in and said: "Imagine if you didn't have a W on a keyboard, so the film would be called?"
"Icked," Charlie replied as they were chatting about the film Wicked. "I thought you were talking about a piano keyboard then."
"No, no, a writing keyboard," Naga said before adding: "And we are going to Matt with the...." "Eather," Charlie went on, looking rather confused.
"Where is this going?" He asked as Naga responded: "I don't know, does Matt want to explain because lots of our viewers have spotted that you have got a problem with your keyboard?"
Matt quickly pointed out, "There is nothing wrong with the keyboard. It was the graphic system, it threw a bit of a wobble."
Fans also took to social media to point out the mishap, with one asking: "Has @bbcweather got a problem with the W key in the graphics this morning? Matt Taylor's forecast just now Inc. Norich, Stornoay and Lerick as well as Glasgo and Necastle. #BBCBreakfast #BBCNewswatch?"
Another commented: "@BBCBreakfast Is the "w" not working today #bbcweather #BBCBreakfast "Norich", "Glasgo"."
A third quizzed: "Does the BBC know they have misspelled a few place names on the weather map? #BBCBreakfast."
"Glasgo? Norich? What's up with the spelling? #BBCBreakfast," another echoed.
"Oh dear, person who labels the #BBCWeather had a good night last night? Glasgo, Necastle, Aberystyth. Happy to give any editorial support you need," someone else joked."
One went on to ask: "Any reason why @MetMattTaylor forecast on @BBCBreakfast had no "w"s in any of the place names ? Norich - Lerick - Necastle!!!"
BBC Breakfast airs daily at 6am on BBC One.
