A New Era of Travel for Jammu and Kashmir

In a groundbreaking initiative aimed at revolutionizing travel in Jammu and Kashmir, Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially launched the highly awaited Vande Bharat train service today. This new route connects the stunning region of Kashmir with Kanyakumari, fulfilling a vision that has been in the making for over a century.

The inaugural trip began from Srinagar to Katra, and with the railway line now complete, passengers will soon enjoy direct travel from Kashmir to the southernmost point of India. In a matter of weeks, this advanced train will make long-distance travel more convenient for residents of the Valley.

Onboard the first Vande Bharat train, young travelers from the Kashmir Valley shared their enthusiasm. One young passenger remarked, “This is a dream come true for us. This train will not only simplify our journeys across the country but also create new avenues for education and job opportunities.”

The journey is set to be a thrilling adventure, as the train will pass through some of India's most breathtaking scenery, including the world's highest railway bridge and remarkable tunnels. An Indian Railways manager, who was present during the inaugural ride, stated, “Today marks the culmination of years of effort. The Prime Minister is dedicating this cutting-edge train to the nation, making it a historic day for Jammu and Kashmir.”
