The film Housefull 5 has been released. This film is the fifth installment of the Housefull franchise and it stars around 20 stars including Akshay Kumar, Ritesh Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri and Nana Patekar, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff. When the trailer of the film was released, a lot of comedy and an entertaining film was expected but unfortunately it did not happen. This film is directed by Tarun Mansukhani and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala.
Story:
The story of the film is set on a luxury cruise ship, where a billionaire businessman Ranjit Dobriyal organizes a party to celebrate his 100th birthday. However, he dies before the party begins, and it is revealed that he has bequeathed all his property to his first wife’s son Jolly. When three different people claim to be Jolly, things get complicated and after the murder of a doctor, it becomes a murder mystery. There are 3 murders one after the other in the film. After Sanjay Dutt and Jackie Shroff, Nana Patekar comes to investigate the murder of the doctor.
Screenplay:
The special thing about the story of the film Housefull 5 is that this film has two climaxes and there are different killers in different films. But the weak link is its screenplay. Comedy will be seen in the first part of the film. You will laugh at some places. Some double meaning dialogues also make you laugh but those moments are few. The second part of the film especially seems very stretched. There is an attempt at physical comedy at some places but it does not make you laugh. The second part of the film was spent only in investigation or solving the murder mystery.
Acting:
Music:
Housefull 5 has followed the trend that has been going on for some time. There is no single composer in this film too but there are definitely many songs which have been composed by different musicians. These songs are such that you will not remember them after coming out of the theatre.
Direction:
The film is directed by Tarun Mansukhani, who has successfully mixed the elements of comedy and thriller in his previous films as well. The cinematography of the film is also good, and the cruise ship scenes have been shot beautifully. The direction is good as per the script.
Overall:
When the trailer of the star-studded film Housefull 5 was released, it was expected that this film could prove to be a great comedy but sadly it did not happen. The film does make you laugh but those moments are not too many. An attempt has been made to do something new by giving two climaxes in Housefull 5 but the script of the film has made it an ordinary film. The marketing of the film also seems weak. Apart from the trailer launch event with all the stars and some digital promotions, nothing else was seen for the promotion of the film. 2.5 stars for the film
