The Hemi V8 was killed for the RAM lineup of trucks a little while back but it is surprisingly back for this model year. You can now book a RAM 1500 with the Hemi V8 option but it will obviously come at a cost since this will not be the base engine.

“Everyone makes mistakes, but how you handle it defines you,” said Kuniskis. “Ram screwed up when we dropped the Hemi—we own it and we fixed it.”

There is also a new logo which will be adorned on every Hemi powered truck and it is called the “symbol of protest badge” which features a Hemi V8 engine logo with a RAM head coming out of it. This is extremely cool and we are glad that there is an actual enthusiast who gets what the customers want and is not hesitant to express their mistakes and roll them back.

The 5.7L V8 engine which produces 395 bhp and 410 lb ft of torque will be available on the Tradesman, Big Horn, Express, Warlock, Laramie and Rebel, Limited and Long Horn trim levels of the RAM 1500. The Limited and Long Horn buyers will not have to pay extra for the V8 since it already comes with the 3.0L turbocharged units.

Fitting the V8 inside the new RAM was not an easy task due to the new electrical architecture that RAM would be using in the 2025 1500 trucks. Kuniskis had to create a special team for the task which was codenamed F15 and lead by former SRT chief, Daryl Smith.
