In a major incident after the tragic stampede during the Celebration of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) IPL victory, the Bangalore police on Friday arrested Nikhil Sosale, the head of the franchise’s marketing and revenue. In the incident on Wednesday, 11 people died and more than 40 people were injured, causing the atmosphere of celebrating the historic celebration after winning their first IPL title for RCB.

Along with the arrest of Sosale, Sunil Mathew, a senior DNA Entertainment officer, has also been arrested, who is an event management company responsible for organizing a public event. The authorities have also detained several other employees due to the rapid investigation of the alleged lapse in the mob control and security system.

Nikhil Sosale is a major executive in RCB, who oversees the team’s marketing and revenue operations under the franchise’s native Diazio India. Over the years, he has played an important role in making the RCB brand one of the most commercially successful franchise in the Indian Premier League.

Sosale, who was well-known in cricket and corporate world, was often seen in IPL 2025 matches and programs, often many pictures of him with star players and high-profile guests also appeared on social media. She attracted the attention of people sitting next to Bollywood actress and RCB veteran Virat Kohli’s wife Anushka Sharma in several matches.

At the same time, according to the information available on his LinkedIn profile, Sosale is responsible for developing and implementing RCB business strategies, brand positioning and fans. His efforts have played an important role in furthering RCB’s off-field success, especially in merchandise, digital content and sponsorship growth. In such a situation, it will be interesting to see how much this development comes in the future of their franchisees.
