Matt Tebutt was met with an "unexpected" arrival after celebrity guest and Downton Abbey star Matt Goode's wife, Sophie Dymoke, appeared on Saturday Kitchen.
The programme had just cut to a pre-record clip with Katherine Ryan sampling a poached egg delight, but as viewers returned to the studio again, Sophie was visible on-screen, sitting alongside her famous actor husband.
Skimming over the fact that a new guest had oddly perched at the glass table, host Matt began to discuss The Crown star's food heaven and hell.

Presenter Matt then paused the live segment, stating: "Before we find out [food heaven or hell] somebody's just joined our table," as a loud resounding applause rippled through the studio.
The actor's wife, Sophie, was now on screen, holding up her hands as she told viewers, "Unexpected. " Her husband jested in the voice of Sacha Baron Cohen's character, Borat, "My wife," and the studio erupted into giggles.
"How are you, Sophie? Are you pleased we pulled you in?" asked the presenter.
She told him with a fuzzled smile, "Yeah, sort of. It was unexpected for sure. " Seeing her unease about being on-air, Matt quizzed, "Are you a bit nervous?"
As her husband stepped in with a martial quip: "It's lovely to have the shoe on the other foot." Sophie returned: "I'll never tell him off again."
"Are your kids watching this?" asked the host, as Sophie responded hesitantly: "Yes, they are."
The presenter prompted: "They are, well, say hello," as she waved towards the camera lens, saying: "Hello, Matilda, Teddy, and Ralph."
The air turned slightly awkward as other guests in the studio filled the void with a rasp of "ahh's" as the host jested to the parents-of-three: "They'll now be mortified."
After introductions, it was evident that the host had made a bit of a faux pas. Keen to get on with the show without delay, Matt had already started creating Netflix's star's food heaven dish without confirming the vote with viewers at home.
"Right, so heaven or hell.... I'm kind of cooking it, so that's already given it away, " he smiled.
"74 percent of people went for heaven," he said while moving away from the monkfish he'd been preparing on the worktop.
"Thank you so much," said Matt and his wife Sophie as the presenter reaffirmed: "A very big vote today and not just about the food."
Saturday Kitchen airs each Saturday on BBC One from 10am.
