Stavanger, Stavanger: Ukrainian Grandmaster Anna Mujichuk, who won the women’s category in Norway Chess, spoke on her victory and told about playing with Indian chess veteran Koneru Hampi in childhood. According to Chase.com, Anna drew his first Norway Chess title against Grandmaster Vaishali Rameshbabu by drawing in both classical and Armagaden, but still it was sufficient to ensure victory with 16.5 points for him. He said, “India are getting many new and good players from the new generation, but also from the old generation, like Koneru Hampi. I played my first match with Koneru when I was seven and she was 10 years old. It is 28 years ago … India is performing brilliantly in women’s and men’s competitions, and I think we will have many more players.” According to Chess.com, third -ranked Hampi did not defeat Grandmaster Joo Wenjun in Classical, but won the Armagadon game. However, it was not enough to win the title.
