Although they are simple to prepare at home, their wide availability in grocery stores leads many people to purchase frozen ones and stash them away for a rainy day. While frozen French fries are a convenient food, they require a fairly significant amount of time to cook. A food expert has shared an easy hack that can result in "crispiest" frozen French fries in no time.

When prepared in the oven, they can take nearly 30 minutes.

Writing for , Adriana Chavez explained that using this one technique can cut down the cooking time from 30 minutes to 10 minutes.

According to the expert, putting the frozen French fries in the microwave before cooking them in the oven will "make the fastest, crispiest, frozen fries."

She said: "Use the microwave to make quick and crispy frozen fries."

• Preheat your oven to the temperature listed on the back of the bag
• Place your desired amount of frozen French fries on a plate and microwave for 1 1/2 minutes-this will help them partially defrost
• Transfer the fries onto a prepared baking sheet lined with parchment paper
• Pop the fries into the preheated oven and bake for 10 minutes, or until they reach a golden brown colour
