Mumbai : Actress Rhea Chakraborty has once again broken her silence over the controversy after the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. In an interview, Riya said that not only did her acting career stop after this case, but the life of her brother Shovik Chakraborty also changed completely. Riya told that the lives of both of us had stopped at that time. I stopped getting any acting work and Shrovic, who scored in 96 percentile CAT and selected for MBA at a premium university, had to go to jail before admission started due to arrest. By the time he came out, the first trimests were over and along with that his future planning was also broken.

He further said that due to media trials, it became impossible to get a corporate job to Shovik. He was not getting a job in any company because ‘Media Scandal’ was associated with his name. Both of us were unable to understand where our lives are going ahead. Riya said that in that difficult time she and Shvik decided to start something of themselves and were born from here of her clogging brand Chapter 2 Drip, which tries to promote self-expression and self-esteem. The first physical store of this brand was launched in Mumbai on 24 May 2025. Riya also shared pictures of its inauguration on social media.

Significantly, Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead on 14 June 2020 in his Mumbai house. In this case, Riya was accused of abetment to suicide and had to face long interrogation by CBI, ED and NCB. However, in May 2024, the CBI filed a closure report and acquitted both Riya and Shovik from all the allegations. Riya made a comeback as a ‘gang leader’ in MTV Roadies last year and she also won that season. This year she returned to the show again, although this time she lost to Elvish Yadav. Now Riya is completely focused on her new business and upcoming projects.
