New Delhi: Ramayana, a film based on the namesake Hindu epic which is expected to release in 2026, has been creating ample buzz ever since it was announced. A lot of this, apart from its mega budget, is because of the stellar ensemble cast which continues to grow day by day.

According to the latest updates, actor Vivek Oberoi is the latest addition to the Ramayana cast. Oberoi would reportedly be playing an important role in the franchise, the first instalment of which is expected to arrive in theatres on Diwali 2026.

Tentative ensemble of Ramayana continues to grow

Be it the currently discussed budget of the movie which is reportedly somewhere around Rs 835 crore film or the ever growing cast of the movie, Ramayana is seen by many to be the most ambitious project to have ever been made in the country.

The latest addition to the cast is reportedly Vivek Oberoi who, reports suggest, might play an important part. The film which is slated to release in two parts is directed by Nitesh Tiwari and written by Namit Malhotra and Shridhar Raghavan.

The reason for the anticipation and hype of the movie, apart from its budget, has been the star cast of the movie. Leading the film in the role of Lord Ram and Goddess Sita, are Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi respectively. Kapoor, one of the most sought after actors working in Hindi cinema today was one of the first announcements made to the film.

Then perhaps the biggest early hype creator to the project was the announcement of South actor Sai Pallavi, making her Bollywood debut with the movie. Pallavi, who has come to establish herself as one of her generation’s brightest stars, commands a legion of fans with her grace, natural beauty, and above all, unparalleled acting talent. The announcement that Pallavi would be playing Sita was one of the biggest reasons that the publicity around the movie skyrocketed, as many North Indian fans of the actress got excited of the prospect that they would finally be getting a chance to see her in a Hindi movie.

Another major point of excitement was that the character of Ravana would be played by Yash of KGF fame. Sunny Deol takes on the role of Lord Hanuman and some reports that suggested that legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan would play Jatayu added more excitement around the project.

Other Tentative Cast Members Include Lara Dutta, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Mohit Raina, Ravi Dubey and Arun Govil.
