SSC Stenographer Eligibility: Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed the 12th class from a recognized board.

Age Limit: 18-30 years for Grade C and 18-27 years for Grade D.

The application fee for this exam is Rs 100 (exempt for women, SC/ST, Divyaangjan and Ex-Servicemen).

SSC Stenographer Exam Pattern: Exam Pattern
The exam will be conducted in Computer Based Test (MCQ) format followed by Stenography Skill Test for the qualified candidates. The questions will be in both English and Hindi.

Candidates should remember that there will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. If the computer-based exam is conducted in multiple shifts, the marks obtained by the candidates will be normalized using the procedure published earlier by the Commission.

The pay scale for Grade C stenographers is between Rs 9,300 to Rs 34,800 with a grade pay of Rs 4,200, while Grade D stenographers will get a pay scale of Rs 5,200 to Rs 20,200 with a grade pay of Rs 2,400.

The stenographers selected under Grade C (Group B, non-gazetted) and Grade D (Group C) will work in various ministries and departments of the Central Government, where they will provide the required clerical and administrative support.
