Vat Purnima Vrat 2025: Vat Purnima Vrat has great importance in Hinduism. This fast is observed by married women to wish for their husband's long life, good health, and happy married life. It is believed that this fast provides unbroken good fortune to married women and blesses the husband with a long life, good health, and protection from all troubles. Worshiping the Vat tree and fasting on this day increases love, harmony, and trust in the relationship between husband and wife. It helps in removing problems, discord, and obstacles in married life, which keeps happiness in married life.

Brahma (root), Vishnu (stem), and Mahesh (branches) - these three gods are believed to reside in the Vat tree. Worshiping this tree brings blessings of all three gods, which brings happiness, prosperity, peace, and positive energy to the house. Couples who are facing obstacles in getting child happiness also get benefit by observing this fast and there are chances of getting children.

According to the Panchang, the date of Vat Purnima will start on Tuesday, June 10 at 11:35 am and will end on Wednesday, June 11 at 1:13 pm. According to Udaya Tithi and Purnima Vyapini Muhurta, the fast and worship of Vat Purnima will be done on Tuesday, June 10.

Vat Purnima Puja Vidhi

On the day of Vat Purnima, women worship the Vat Vriksha (Banyan tree) with full devotion and devotion.

On the day of Vat Purnima fasts, wakes up early in the morning, and takes a bath.

Wear clean and new clothes (especially red or yellow).

Do sixteen adornments, because this fast is associated with good fortune.

Wrap the raw thread around the trunk of the tree and circumambulate it 7, 11, 21, 51, or 108 times.

While doing each circumambulation, wish for a long life, good health, and happy married life of the husband.

Circumambulating with the husband is considered more auspicious. If possible, do parikrama with your husband.

Offer fruits, sweets, and soaked gram.

After parikrama and puja, sit under the Vat tree or come home and read or listen to Vat Savitri Vrat Katha.

Give Suhaag items, fruits, and donations to a married woman, Brahmin, or poor according to your faith.

Vrat Parana Rules

Vat Purnima Vrat Parana is done the next day i.e. on Wednesday, June 11, after the Purnima Tithi ends.

On the day of Parana (June 11), take a bath in the morning and wear clean clothes.

Remember Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu (who reside in the Vat tree) and thank them for completing the fast.

Donate according to your capacity before Parana. It is auspicious to donate food, clothes, fruits, etc.

Purnima Tithi is ending on 11 June 2025 at 1:13 pm. After this, you can do Paran.

Always do Paran with satvik food.

Some women break the fast with kheer, soaked gram, or other satvik sweets and fruits.

The fast is completed by eating normal grains (which is forbidden in the fast).

The use of onion and garlic is forbidden.
