IndianOil Director (Refineries), Arvind Kumar led Team Refineries during World Environment Day 2025 celebrations at Refineries HQ today. Speaking at the event, Arvind Kumar called for responsibility to lead solutions for ending plastic pollution. He said that strategy of Refineries Division is rooted in innovation, integration, and circularity and urged everyone to embrace the 3Rs—Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle in day-to-day practice. He also spoke about Innovative Plastic Waste Management initiatives, water conservation techniques and other sustainability efforts across the refineries.
The event was marked by a series of impactful initiatives aimed at sustainable practices to end Plastic Pollution. He was joined by children of IndianOil family, symbolizing intergenerational responsibility for environmental conservation. Beginning with tree plantation, Arvind Kumar also unveiled an eco-friendly bench made from recycled plastic, reinforcing IndianOil’s commitment to plastic reuse and sustainability.
An Environment Manual for the Refineries Division was also released on the occasion which would serve as a comprehensive technical reference for all stakeholders engaged in environmental conservation w.r.t environmental regulations, operational standards, and industry best practices. The event also witnessed the release of a bilingual comic calendar for kids aimed at instilling environmental awareness among school children in refinery townships—our future champions of sustainability. In addition, an audio-visual film was launched to showcase sustainability initiatives undertaken at Gujarat Refinery.
