Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah stated that the government is considering to move the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru outside of the city to prevent future incidents. The (RCB) IPL 2025 victory celebrations claimed 11 lives and left many injured on June 4.

Siddaramaiah expressed deep sorrow over the incident and confirmed that the government is looking for a long-term solution. He revealed his government is looking to shift the stadium to a different location.

"The government will look into shifting the cricket stadium to another location. Such an unpleasant incident should not happen under any government. Personally, this incident has hurt me and the government," Siddaramaiah said to the reporters.

"Five police officers have been suspended in this case. The intelligence chief and the chief minister's political secretary have been replaced. The case has been taken seriously and appropriate action has been taken," he added.

The Chief Minister admitted that the government had not acted irresponsibly over the Bengaluru stampede. He insisted legal actions were taken against people who were responsible for the tragic incident.

"The government has not done anything wrong. This incident is saddening, but no misstep was taken by the administration. Legal action has been taken against those found guilty, so there is no question of embarrassment for the government," Siddaramaiah conceded.

Siddaramaiah stated that he became aware of the tragic stampede outside the stadium at 5:45 PM on June 4. He also did not attend the event at the stadium, which began around 6:10 PM, but was attended by Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar.

Recently, Siddaramaiah announced that the compensation for the families of the deceased will be raised from INR 10 lakh to INR 25 lakh. He emphasised that the government stands with the affected families during this difficult time.
