Wandse: Chandrashekar Manja (78), the chief priest of Maranakatte Sri Brahmalingeshwara Temple, passed away on June 8.

He is survived by his wife, a son, and a daughter.

He served as a senior priest for many years and was highly respected by the devotees of the temple.

Condolences were expressed by the temple’s hereditary trustee C. Sadashiva Shetty, Byndoor MLA Gururaj Gantihole, and former MLAs K. Gopal Poojari and B.M. Sukumar Shetty.
