News Desk. Railway has taken a big decision keeping in mind the safety of passengers. Actually Mumbai is a crowded city. There have been many extents from Mumbai Local Trains. Because of this, the Railways has decided this, automatic doors will be installed in local trains running in Mumbai.

Railways has made it clear that all trains built for Mumbai suburban networks will have automatic doors. It will also be equipped with this security for existing trains. If you look at some figures, Mumbai’s suburban railway system operates more than 3,000 services per day, which includes more than 250 trains. Currently only 15 trains have automatic doors and air conditioning facilities, while the remaining non-vocal trains do not have this feature.

The railway is already working to install automatic doors. It may be noted that in January 2020, Western Railway had tested automatic doors in three non-vast trains but progress was slow. But the Mumbai accident has explained its usefulness. According to the Central Railway in the recent accident, the main cause of the accident was extremely crowded in the train. In the last 20 years, 51,802 people have lost their lives in local trains of Mumbai, which shows the serious security situation and that is why the Railways has to take steps now.

If the automatic doors start being used in the coaches of trains, then the passengers who travel on the fitboard will not be able to do it. Most of the train accidents occur with passengers sitting in these places. This effort of the railway is considered to be very commendable. The move is expected to be safe and reliable in Mumbai’s local trains.
