fans are convinced a former resident is heading back in a big Tracy Robinson twist.

Tracy portrayed by Amy Walsh, arrived in the soap back in 2014 as Vanessa Woodfield's (Michelle Hardwick) long-lost sister and swiftly became embroiled in the village's scandals, from passionate flings to salacious brawls.

Her misadventure in 2023 involved an affair with Caleb Miligan (William Ash), which ultimately got uncovered. However, recently, Tracy was left reeling from the news that her ex-husband Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) had been brutally slain and his remains concealed in a river.

This storyline came after the nefarious John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) took Nate's life last year, a fact unbeknownst to the villagers who remain clueless about John's murderous tendencies.

But the plot thickens as Nate's body surfaces and village gossip runs wild, insinuating Tracy as the murderer.

The upcoming episodes promise even more edge-of-your-seat drama when Tracy is hauled into the police station for questioning and, in a desperate move, convinces her sister Vanessa to fabricate an alibi for her.

With suspicion mounting on Tracy, avid Emmerdale watchers are buzzing with the possibility of an old familiar face returning to assist her amidst the turmoil.

Social media chatter heats up, particularly on an Emmerdale Facebook fan page where a user speculated: "Is Tracy's time up... I do kind of feel sorry for her, anyone else?", reports Belfast Live.

Fans are speculating a dramatic return for David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) to 'save her,' with one commenting: "I think David might come back and help her get out of it." Another added: "Her ex? He might, it would be a good way to get him back."

David first appeared on the iconic soap in 2006, introduced as Eric Pollard's (Chris Chittell) son and has since been central to several major plots.

His marriage to Tracy took place in 2016 but didn't stand the test of time. In a turn of events, Matthew Wolfenden left the show in 2023, resulting in David's departure hitting screens in April 2024.

Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
