As the unfortunate divide within the Beckham family continues, Brooklyn was seen enjoying himself at his in-laws' gathering in Hollywood, accompanied by his wife.

The bond between Brooklyn and Will, 39, seems to be strengthening, with the aspiring chef even referring to him as "bro" in a recent tribute. Rumours of a strained relationship in the family first emerged after Victoria, 51, and Nicola, 30, reportedly disagreed over her wedding dress. Three years later, it was reported that Brooklyn and Nicola, now based in LA, have completely severed ties with the family.

Brooklyn was notably absent from his father's 50th birthday celebrations, but had no problems about attending Will's party, donning a black shirt and jeans for the occasion. It comes after Brooklyn's younger brother, Romeo Beckham, split from girlfriend Kim Turnbull, which friends believe won't help mend the fractured family relations.

Nicola's friends previously pointed the finger at Kim for their absence from David's 50th, alleging it was due to Brooklyn's past fling with her, a claim Beckham's circle has denied. Insiders reckon it would take a "small miracle at present" for harmony to be restored between the family.

New magazine reports that Victoria is finding the situation hard to swallow because Brooklyn will "always be her baby". Another insider revealed: "He's her first-born and they've always had a wonderful relationship, she feels like Nicola has taken over and it's really tough to deal with as a mother.

"David is frustrated with Brooklyn's antics and is telling Victoria it's unacceptable, but she's just upset, feeling like she's losing her first baby. She's very family-oriented so it's a concern that Brooklyn and Nicola will start their own family and Victoria won't have contact with her first grandchild - it's a heartbreaking thought."
