Surya Mitra Krishi Feeder Yojana: Farmers will become a new scheme will be a new scheme coming for 7 years, the Madhya Pradesh government has launched ‘Suryamitra Krishi Feeder Yojana’ (Surya Mitra Krishna Feeder Yojana) with the aim of providing cheap and plenty of electricity to farmers during the day. Under this scheme, farmers will not only be able to irrigate their fields with solar energy, but they themselves will also become electricity producers and will be able to get permanent income by selling electricity to the government for 25 years. A major conference at the state level will be held on Tuesday, June 10 at the Kushabhau Thackeray Auditorium in Bhopal regarding this scheme.
According to the new and renewable Energy Minister Rakesh Shukla, the objective of this scheme is to give farmers and small investors a direct opportunity to generate electricity through solar energy. Under this, solar projects will be installed up to 100% capacity of power sub-station, from which the government will buy electricity for 25 years. It will become a permanent and profitable income source for farmers.
Additional Chief Secretary of the department Manu Srivastava said that there are currently about 8,000 agricultural feeders in the state, with more than 35 lakh agricultural pumps connected. Solar plants will be installed at 11 KV levels to connect these feeders with solar energy, which will ensure uninterrupted power supply during the day. Due to this, farmers will get facility in irrigation, while the burden of electricity subsidy will also decrease.
These solar plants will be installed near the feeders, so that the energy will directly reach the consumption place. This will reduce the transmission loss and Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company will get electricity at a cheaper rate. This system will strengthen the power system of the state.
According to departmental officials, so far 80 MW solar projects have been set up, from which more than 16,000 pumps are running with solar energy. In addition, contracts have been made for 240 MW and work on 200 MW is in progress. A total of 520 MW scheme will be able to connect more than one lakh pumps with solar energy.
Investors will be given 3% interest discounts for 7 years from Agriculture Infrastructure Fund for the establishment of solar projects. This will make this scheme financially profitable for both farmers and investors.
