Indore: On Tuesday, Uma Raghuvanshi, the mother of Raja Raghuvanshi, called for justice for her son and said that the guilty need to be imprisoned for life.
“I want my kid to get justice. The defendant ought to be hanged. They ought to get a severe penalty. The bereaved mother of the deceased remarked, “I think there are more people involved in the case because one person could not have planned and executed it.”
Uma spoke about Sonam Raghuvanshi, her daughter-in-law, saying, “We were delighted to have her join the family.” We could see only what was ahead, and we paid no regard to her history. The marriage made Raja extremely pleased. May 23 was the last time I spoke with them. Right up to the very end, I had no doubts.
In the meanwhile, Vipin Raghuvanshi, the brother of the late Raja Raghuvanshi, made new accusations against Sonam Raghuvanshi, the key suspect in the Meghalaya honeymoon murder case, and his sister-in-law.
The deceased’s family said that over five people were engaged in the crime and that the accused, Sonam, faked her surrender.
Additionally, he said that Sonam Raghuvanshi’s mother knew about the alleged romance between Raj Kushwaha and her daughter, Sonam, and concealed it from their family.
On Tuesday, the fourth defendant—Anand—in the murder case of Raja Raghuvanshi was also placed on seven days of transit detention.
On Monday, three more defendants—Akash Rajput, Vishal Singh Chauhan, and Raj Singh Kushwaha—were placed under seven days of travel detention.
Additional DCP Rajesh Dandotiya told ANI, “Shillong Police brought the fourth accused, Anand, here. On transit remand, he is being brought before the court. All four of the suspects will accompany Shillong Police as they conduct further investigation. All three of the accused are Raj Kushwaha’s buddies, and Anand lives in Indore.
Raj was once employed in Sonam Raghuvanshi’s workplace as an accountant. Akash was jobless, while Vishal and Anand were first- and second-year students. They have no criminal history. The ages of the four accused range from 20 to 25. “The Shillong Police have conducted all of the interrogations,” the spokesman said.
The DCP said that when transit remand procedures are finished later today, the four would be transported to Shillong. The deceased’s wife, Sonam Rahuvanshi, and Raj Kushwaha are the main suspects, according to the police.
Following her three-day transit remand, Sonam Raghuvanshi was taken by the Meghalaya Police to the Phulwari Sarif police station in Patna, Bihar.

This follows reports that contract assassins allegedly employed by Raja Raghuvanshi’s wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi, assassinated the victim while on a honeymoon vacation in Meghalaya.
Sonam was discovered next to a dhaba on the Varanasi-Ghazipur major route, according to a senior Uttar Pradesh police officer.
She was later detained by the Uttar Pradesh police at the Sakhi One Stop Centre in Ghazipur. She was brought to the District Hospital for a medical checkup after the arrival of the Meghalaya Police.
Prestone Tynsong, the deputy chief minister of Meghalaya, had earlier announced that four people had been arrested in relation to Raja Raghuvanshi’s murder.
On June 9, just after Sonam Raghvanshi turned himself in to the police, Tynsong told reporters that there was still one person they were looking for.
Sonam willingly surrendered herself, he said, and everyone who was caught would be sent to Shillong for further examination.
