Jannik Sinner's respect for money was obvious when he previously revealed he treated himself to just one gift despite his multi-million pound earnings. The world No. 1 - fresh off his heartbreaking French Open final defeat to Carlos Alcaraz - ranks ninth among male players for the highest money earned throughout their career.

After pocketing £1million ($1.45m) for his runner up finish at Roland Garros, the 23-year-old sits narrowly behind Pete Sampras on the all-time list having earned £30m ($41.5m) so far in what has a hugely successful start to his career. On top of his sponsorships with Nike, Gucci, Rolex and more, has already built a life of financial comfort at a young age.

Despite his hefty net worth, which is estimated at £19m ($26.6m), the Italian isn't one for splashing his hard-earned cash as he admitted to in a 2024 interview. When asked about his relationship with money, Sinner said that while he isn't stingy, he remains respectful of the power of money.

"Before buying something I always look at the price, always," he said to. "If I go to a restaurant and the pasta with meat sauce costs much more than the one with tomato sauce, I'll buy the one with tomato sauce. Not because I'm cheap, but because I respect money."

He did however make sure to treat himself to a new vehicle but not one many would associate with a young rich athlete. "The only gift I gave myself was the car [Alfa Romeo Stelvio Q4 Veloce]," Sinner revealed. "It is a beautiful car, but you don't think of a , a Lamborghini or a Maserati."

The tennis star's lack of focus on material items certainly explains the success he's experienced namely with the three Grand Slam titles he's won. His defeat to Alcaraz on Sunday was his first in a major final and when asked how he'll attempt to recover from the loss, he pinpointed his closeness to his family.

"Yeah, I mean, my family, the people who know me, now they are helping me," he said after the final. "It's (about) giving at times, and sometimes you take something. And now it's my time to take something from the close people I have.

"They would for sure be happy that I come back home (and be) with my family, with everyone. We are just a very simple family. My dad was not here because he was working today. Nothing of our success changes in the family. It was nice to see my mom here. And I guess my dad, he was watching on TV-if he finished work. It's okay."
