Bollywood veteran Deepika Padukone made her father and badminton icon Prakash Padukone’s 70th birthday very special. On this occasion, he started a new initiative by launching ‘Padukone School of Badminton’ (Padukone School of Badminton ‘, which is a strong attempt to reach the game to every section of the society.
Through this school, Deepika and her family are not only showing their dedication to badminton, but are also moving towards realizing their dreams of making India a fit and sports-inspired nation. Deepika announced this initiative dedicated to her father with an emotional note on Instagram.
According to Deepika Padukone, PSB is currently active in 18 cities of the country with more than 75 coaching centers. These cities include big cities like Bengaluru, NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Jaipur, Dehradun, Mysore and Coimbatore. By 2027, the target is to open 250 coaching centers across India, so that the dream of ‘Badminton for All’ can be realized.
Deepika wrote in her Instagram post, "Those who know you closely, they know how deep your passion for badminton is. Even today you only think about badminton, eat and live. We are committed to realize your passion – Badminton for All! Happy 70th Birthday Papa!"
Former All England Champion and Badminton veteran Prakash Padukone will play the role of the chief advisor and mentor of this school. They said, "Sports are an integral part of life. It teaches discipline, tolerance and mentality of winning, which is also useful outside the court. Through PSB, our goal is to make quality coaching accessible and cheaper to every person, so that talent can be enhanced from the ground level."
