Ashadh Mahine Me Kya Kare Kya Na Kare: According to the Hindu calendar, Ashadh month is the fourth month of the year, which starts after Jyeshtha Purnima. This month is considered very important from a spiritual point of view as it has many big religious festivals, fasts, and rituals. Major festivals this month include Devshayani Ekadashi, Jagannath Rath Yatra, and Guru Purnima. These festivals are directly related to Lord Vishnu and Guru Parampara, making them suitable for devotion and sadhana. This year Ashadh month will start from 12 June 2025 and will last till 10 July 2025.

Worshiping Lord Vishnu in Ashadh month is considered very auspicious. It is believed that Devshayan starts from this month, that is, Lord Vishnu goes into Yognidra in Kshir Sagar. Due to this, auspicious works like marriage, etc. are prohibited for some time after this month.

What to do in Ashadh month?

In this month, especially worship Lord Vishnu and chant the mantra 'Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevay'.

Guru Purnima is the main festival of this month, so respect and serve your spiritual or academic guru.

Practice meditation, mantra chanting, and yoga to increase mental and spiritual strength.

Donating food, clothes, umbrellas, water pots, etc. this month gives special virtue.

Especially following the Ekadashi fast, which helps in purifying the body and mind.

What not to do in the month of Ashadha?

Works like marriage, and housewarming are prohibited from this month because the Devshayan period begins.

It is considered mandatory to adopt a pure and satvik diet this month. This keeps both the body and mind pure.

Avoid acts like violation of religious rules, lying, cheating, and theft.

Avoid cutting trees in this month. Plants and trees are the basis of life, and their preservation is considered auspicious from a religious point of view.
