SSC CGL 2025 Exam Pattern: The Staff Selection Commission has started the registration process for the CGL exam. This time a total of 14,582 posts will be filled through this exam. The last date to apply is July 4, 2024. The Tier-1 exam is to be held from August 13 to 30, 2025.

SSC CGL Selection Process: Selection Process
The candidates are selected through a two-level computer-based examination (CBE) followed by a document verification round. Document verification is done by the user departments after the final result is declared. Registered candidates have to pass the Tier-1 and Tier-2 exams. The Tier-1 exam is likely to be held in August and the Tier-2 exam is likely to be held in December.

SSC CGL Tier-I Exam Pattern: SSC CGL Tier-1 Exam Pattern

The exam consists of a total of 100 objective-type multiple-choice questions from four subjects. The duration of the exam is 1 hour (1 hour 20 minutes for candidates with a scribe). There is also a negative marking of 0.50 marks in the exam.

Candidates who clear the Tier-1 exam have to appear for the Tier-2 exam, which is likely to be held in December. The Tier-2 exam consists of two papers, which are held in different shifts/days. Paper-I is compulsory for all posts and Paper-II is only for those candidates who opt for the Junior Commercial Officer (JSO) post.

SSC CGL Tier-II Exam Pattern: SSC CGL Tier-II Exam Pattern
The Tier-II exam consists of two papers (Paper-1 and Paper-2). Paper I will be conducted in two sessions on the same day. It will consist of the following four sections:

Section-I:
Mathematical Abilities

Reasoning and General Intelligence

Section-II:
English Language and Comprehension

General Awareness

Section III: Computer Knowledge Test

Section-IV: Data Entry Speed Test

SSC CGL Qualifying Marks: Minimum qualifying marks

The minimum qualifying marks required to pass Section-I, Section-II, and Section-III of Paper-I of Tier-II and Paper-II of Tier-II exam are as follows:

Unreserved: 30%

OBC/EWS: 25%

All other categories: 20%

There will be a negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer in Section-I, Section-II, and Section-III of Paper-I and a negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-II.

SSC CGL Posts: Recruitment will be done on these posts

Recruitment will be done for Group B posts in Central Government departments like Assistant Section Officer, Income Tax Inspector, Central Excise Inspector, Assistant Enforcement Officer, Sub Inspector, Postal Inspector, Narcotics Inspector, Executive Assistant, Research Assistant, Divisional Accountant, NIA Sub Inspector, Junior Statistical Officer. Recruitment will be done for Group C posts like Auditor, Accountant, Postal Assistant, Upper Divisional Clerk, Senior Administrative Assistant, and Tax Assistant.

Age Limit and Educational Qualification

The age limit is 18-30 years, 20 to 30 years, 18-32 years or 18 to 27 years depending on the post. The cut-off date for determining the age limit will be August 01, 2025 and reserved category candidates will be given relaxation in the upper age limit.
