Former presenter has revealed how she managed to shed an impressive 5st after a tumultuous few years. At 67 years old, the celebrated TV host and star endured an ordeal with stalker James Haviland, who received a decade-long restraining order last summer after admitting causing Fern fear, alarm, or distress. Her terrifying stalking episode coincided with the , all while dealing with various health issues.

Fern found comfort in life's simple pleasures, specifically the company of her pet cats. In a heartfelt admission to The Sunday Times, she expressed: "When I'm not feeling well, one of my cats will always sit on my bed with me. They take it in turns, like a shift pattern. This has been particularly comforting in recent years because I've had a catalogue of difficult things to face, from getting my home together here in Cornwall, to discovering that I had a stalker.", reports Cornwall Live.

The former anchor of This Morning has turned over a new leaf, revealing a sensational five-stone weight loss which she posts about on Instagram, joining the ranks of Couch to 5K runners. In a new video, she shared a video of herself running, looking fit and healthy as she chatted to the camera during the jog.

Despite her transformation and resurgence in confidence, she opened up to Women and Home magazine suggesting her disinterest in television comeback and romantic pursuits, asserting: "I'm not looking for love."

Fern Britton has candidly opened up about her personal life, admitting: "I'm still a bit too wary of losing my liberty. There's nobody to run something past, but on the other hand, I think back to running things past people and it never really worked out, so why don't I just make my own decision? Then I'm the only person who can go, 'I f***ed up there'."

Reflecting on her past, Fern reminisces about meeting ex-husband Phil Vickery while presenting Ready Steady Cook in 1999. They were married shortly after in 2000 and welcomed daughter Winnie in 2001.

Fern and Phil, once regular faces on ITV's This Morning, with Fern hosting for ten years since 1999 and Phil joining her as chef in 2006, became a beloved television duo. Despite seemingly having a solid marriage, the couple shocked fans when they announced their separation in January 2020.

Taking to Twitter, Fern expressed: "After more than 20 happy years together, Phil and I have decided to go our separate ways."

In her tweet, Fern requested privacy, thanking fans for their support: "We will always share a great friendship and our lovely children. We would appreciate it if our privacy is respected at this time. Thank you for your continued kindness and support."
