In preparation for the Test series against India, the England team has summoned young fast bowler Eddie Jack for practice. He has showcased remarkable skills while playing for England Lions in two four-day matches against India A. The series, which marks the beginning of India's next World Test Championship cycle, is set to kick off on June 20 with five Test matches, the first of which will take place at Headingley. 

The 19-year-old bowler from Hampshire caught the selectors' attention by dismissing Indian batsman KL Rahul during the second unofficial Test, which ended in a draw in Northampton. Rahul had scored a century in the first innings. According to a report from The Times, London, the 6-foot-4-inch tall Jack has impressed the coaching staff of England Lions, which includes notable figures like Andrew Flintoff, Mark Wood, and Graeme Swann. 

Jack Outsmarts Notable Batsmen

Although Jack has yet to make his County Championship debut for Hampshire, he has played two first-class matches, both against India A. Earlier this year, he represented England Under-19 in South Africa. Additionally, he took five wickets in a practice match against Zimbabwe while playing for the Combined County XI last month. In Northampton, Jack consistently outsmarted players from India's Test squad, including Nitish Reddy and Dhruv Jurel. He ultimately dismissed Jurel, who was named Player of the Match in the Test against England in Ranchi in 2022, claiming 2 wickets for 71 runs in the second innings.
