While detailing the next season, Neil talked about what themes will be followed in season 3 compared to the first two and how “It’s more of a water season than a fire season.” Mazin contributed to the statement by adding that “it’s a wetter season than a hotter season.”
While talking about the controversial ending of season 2, Mazin stated that “I think plot armour is a real problem. In a show where we try and keep things grounded, sometimes the people we can’t imagine losing do die. Because this is not a show about revenge but about grief.”
