Actor Urva Savaliya , who portrays Samrat Prithviraj in epic historical drama Chakravarthi Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan , recently brought more than just his acting skills to the screen. In a gripping sequence where Prithviraj hosts a high-stakes chess match against Jaichand, Urva’s lifelong passion for chess played a central role in making the scene come alive.
A chess enthusiast since childhood, Urva seamlessly integrated his personal skills into the performance, giving the face-off a layer of authenticity that fans are sure to notice. Off-screen too, his love for the game hasn’t gone unnoticed—between shoots, he’s often seen playing or even teaching chess to fellow co-stars, turning breaks on set into playful learning sessions.
Speaking about the experience, Urva shared "Chess has always been more than just a game for me, it teaches patience, strategy, and how to think two steps ahead. Getting the chance to bring that part of me into Prithviraj’s character was incredibly fulfilling. Sharing that with the cast on set has been a joy and a source creating a health bond with my co-actors"
In an earlier conversation, Urva had spoken about the most challenging part of playing a young warrior, he shared, "The most difficult part for me is to look serious and be strong during the action scenes . Sometimes I do feel nervous, but then I remind myself that I'm playing legendary king Prithviraj Chauhan , so I must feel confident and fearless. Also, delivering these long dialogues in the royal dialect is a bit tricky sometimes, but I like it because I enjoy learning new things and it makes me feel proud of my culture."
With scenes like these, Chakravarthi Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan continues to blend historical drama with heartfelt realism.
