Netflix's brutal new action series is soaring up the streaming service's charts, gripping audiences with its intense scenes of vengeance and blood-soaked violence.

Mercy for None, which debuted earlier in the month, stars So Ji-sub as Nam Gi-jun - an ex-gang member driven by the slaying of his younger sibling. In a tantalising preview, Netflix promises: "A former gangster returns to the underworld ready to settle every score, by any means necessary."

An official outline teases viewers with: "After severing ties with his gang, a former gangster returns to uncover the truth behind his brother's death, embarking on a relentless path of revenge."

Critics and fans alike have been effusive in their praise. One viewer raved on IMDB: "I binge-watched this series in one sitting and absolutely loved it from beginning to end. Each episode kept me on the edge of my seat-there was never a dull moment!"

Another expressed: "Korean dramas have long mastered the art of combining emotional depth with gripping plots, and Too Much Good to Watch is a prime example of that formula executed with precision. Streaming now on Netflix, this action-packed revenge thriller wastes no time diving into a story marked by tragedy, justice, and unrelenting violence", reports .

They added: "It's not a drama for the faint of heart-but if you appreciate intense pacing, complex characters, and moral ambiguity, this is one series you won't want to miss."

Another viewer chimed in, stating that this is a series that "is only for fans of action and bloody violence".

However, not everyone was enamoured. One critic noted: "The story is ok and acting is good , the production is great, fighting scenes are stunning, but as usual in this kind of movies it don't take so much time before it gets boring, same same again and again and its so sad when they had something good in the beginning."

The show, described as "gritty and dark", was crafted by Yoo Ki-seong and Choi Sung-eun, and premiered on June 6. It also features Huh Joon-ho and Gong Myoung among its cast.

All seven episodes are available to stream online now and it's currently making waves on Netflix.

As per 's Tudum, Mercy for None is an adaptation of the webtoon Plaza Wars: Mercy for None by O Se-hyung and Kim Gyun-tae.
