Exclusive: Abhay Verma on landing a lead role with studio that gave him his debut as a background artist in Hrithik Roshan starrer
Life has come full circle for actor Abhay Verma . The actor was once a junior artist on the sets of Super 30 , which was produced by Phantom Films . Abhay is now stepping into the spotlight as the lead in the studio’s latest venture, Laikey Laikaa . The film also stars Rasha Thadani, and the duo was recently seen together after wrapping up an acting workshop for the project.
The casting marks a special moment in Abhay's journey as an actor— from being the background artist to main lead, under the same banner where he began his cinematic dream. During Super 30, he was one among many in the crowd, absorbing the craft, inspired by Hrithik Roshan who starred in the Vikas Bahl directorial.
Reflecting on his journey, Abhay expressed, “Life has come full circle. I used to secretly watch Hrithik sir perform on the sets of Super 30 when I was just a junior artist. I hope Laikey Laikaa makes someone out there feel closer to their dream. More than anything, I hope my story becomes an answer to the many questions aspiring actors have—whether their dreams can come true, whether they’ll be accepted in the industry. If my journey can inspire even one person, I’ll consider myself fortunate.”
Speaking about the film, Abhay shares that Laikey Laikaa is “a story about two people caught up in a different world.” On his chemistry with co-star Rasha Thadani, Abhay remains optimistic, “It’s too early to say anything definitive, but we’re both looking forward to making people feel something. It’s a story about connection in a chaotic world.”
In addition to Laikey Laikaa, Abhay will be seen in Siddharth Anand’s King alongside Shah Rukh Khan, and he’s also working on JC with director Sujaat Saudagar.
