In a major push for women's empowerment, the Bihar government is offering financial assistance of up to ₹1 lakh to female candidates preparing for civil services under the Mukhyamantri Nari Shakti Yojana. The scheme aims to support women who have cleared the preliminary exams of UPSC or BPSC, helping them prepare for the mains with government aid.
This initiative is part of the state's broader policy to promote educational, economic, and social development among women and increase their participation in the public service sector.
The CM Nari Shakti Yojana aims to:
Make women economically and socially self-reliant
Provide enhanced access to education, training, and employment
Curb child marriage, domestic violence, and gender inequality
Encourage female participation in competitive government exams
₹1 lakh for women who clear the UPSC Prelims
₹50,000 for those who pass the BPSC Prelims
Special provisions for working women’s hostels and childcare centers
Access to women's helplines, short stay homes, and emergency shelters
Legal, mental health, and social support services
Training for self-employment, along with low-interest loans and subsidies
The applicant must be a permanent resident of Bihar
Must have passed UPSC or BPSC preliminary exams

Visit the official portal of the Social Welfare Department, Bihar
Register using your name, Aadhaar number, mobile number, and email ID
Create a user ID and password, then log in
Fill out the application form with accurate details
Upload the required documents and submit the form
Download the acknowledgment receipt for future reference
Visit your Block Office (RTPS Counter) to collect and submit the application form
The form will be verified by the Block Development Officer (BDO)
