The CGEPT-01/2026 batch includes 260 posts of Sailor (General Duty), 30 posts of Mechanical (Mechanical), 11 posts of Mechanical (Electrical) and 19 posts of Mechanical (Electronics). At the same time, the CGEPT-02/2026 batch once again has 260 posts of Sailor (General Duty) and 50 posts of Sailor (Domestic Branch). Who can apply?
The educational qualification for candidates applying for Sailor and Mechanical posts in the Indian Coast Guard is different according to the post:

Sailor (General Duty): Candidate must have passed 12th class with Mathematics and Physics subjects.

Sailor (Domestic Branch): Only a 10th pass is sufficient.

Yantrik Post: Candidate must have passed 10th or 12th with a 2 to 4 years diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, or Telecommunication (Radio/Power) Engineering from an AICTE-recognized institute.

Age Limit
The age of the candidate should be between 18 to 22 years. The eligibility of date of birth is different according to different posts and batches, information of which is available in the official notification.

Pay Scale
The candidates selected in the Indian Coast Guard will be provided with attractive pay scales and allowances. Candidates selected for the post of Sailor (General Duty and Domestic Branch) will get a basic pay of Rs 21,700 (Pay Level-3), along with other allowances. At the same time, candidates selected for mechanical posts will get a basic pay of Rs 29,200 (Pay Level-5), in addition to this, they will also get a mechanical allowance of Rs 6,200 and other applicable allowances.
