Akara Cosmetics recently hosted a cozy product testing event to offer an exclusive first look of their upcoming makeup launches at NX Lounge, Kolkata. An eclectic mix of 30+ guests including influencers, beauty enthusiasts and current loyal buyers were shortlisted to test and share honest feedback on the brand’s unreleased formulations.

Akash Jaiswal and Tina Jaiswal, Co-Founders Akara was present to personally interact with the guests, share their vision for the brand and to assess the consumer response. The event was hosted by anchor and makeup artist Gulshan Banu and introductions were led by Pompy Borah, Operations Head, Akara. The brands upcoming range includes Liquid Matte Lipstick, Bullet Matte Lipstick, Liquid Blush and Eye liner.

While trials with friends and family are common amid new startups, taking a step ahead to go out of the way to expose the products to an audience for feedback is not a common routine among homegrown brands. The raw unfiltered products conversations and no packaging to maintain the mystique held the room engaged all along. Guests and members of the media and beauty community were also encouraged to swatch shades, experience textures and share real-time feedback.

Interestingly the response was overwhelmingly positive, with many excited about the brand’s clean and inclusive approach. The feedbacks will be deeply evaluated and incorporated, the packaging designs will be shortlisted soon too. The products are expected to hit markets tentatively in the next quarter

Akara, a rising Indian beauty brand, is all about making makeup that’s kind to your skin and easy to love. With skincare-infused formulas and clean, conscious beauty at its heart, the brand is slowly but surely becoming one to watch.
