Air India flight (AI-171) going from Ahmedabad to London crashed in the afternoon on 12 June. There were 242 people in this aircraft. These included 169 Indians, 53 British, 7 Portuguese and 1 Canadian citizens. There were also 12 members of the pilot and the cabin crew. Soon after taking off from Ahmedabad Airport, the aircraft accident fell victim and collided with the BJ Medical College building.
