The latest series of Not Going Out is due to debut this week.
Starring and created by Lee Mack, the show features a fictionalised version of himself as an unambitious man in his late thirties residing in a flat in London's Docklands.
Lee eventually becomes the lodger of his best friend Tim's (Tim Vine) sister, Lucy (Sally Bretton). The sitcom follows their journey from friends to one of TV's favourite couples.
Since its premiere in 2006, Not Going Out has become the second-longest-running British sitcom, only surpassed by Last of the Summer Wine, which aired from 1973 to 2010.
Here's all you need to know about the 14th season of the popular sitcom, including release date, cast, and episode details, reports .
The 14th series of Not Going Out will broadcast on BBC One on Friday, June 13 at 9pm, with new episodes airing weekly. The entire series will also be available as a box set on BBC iPlayer.
The new series of Not Going Out is comprised of six episodes. They are titled House Move, Doll, Campervan, Oasis, Dragon Castle and Hotel Room.
In the opening episode, Lee and Lucy mull over moving house and inspect the property of their dreams, yet Lee causes a stir when he asks to use the toilet, sparking tension with the homeowner.
Episode four finds the duo scrambling to secure tickets to the Oasis reunion concert, but as they lose their spot in the virtual queue, the blame game starts between them.
The final instalment of the series showcases Lee exploiting his stash of free vouchers for an overnight stay at a mid-range hotel, ensuring he indulges in all the amenities on offer.
In addition to Lee and Lucy, it has been announced that Mike Wozniak, Ray Fearon, and Eileen O'Brien will feature in the first episode of series 14.
It remains uncertain whether Lee and Lucy's friends, Anna (Abigail Cruttenden) and Toby (Hugh Dennis), or Lucy's parents, Wendy (Deborah Grant) and Geoffrey (Geoffrey Whitehead), will appear in the series.
Lee Mack previously disclosed that he attempted to get Noel Gallagher to guest star in an Oasis-themed episode, but he didn't receive a response.
"I'd been listening to Rob Brydon's podcast, and he'd interviewed Noel," Lee said.
"I got Noel's number off him and sent him a text asking if he'd be on the show, but he never got back to me. It's been eight months now, so I think it's a no!"
Back in 2017, the sitcom implemented a seven-year leap forward, showcasing married duo Lucy and Lee upsizing from their apartment to a house in Walton-on-Thames, bringing up their trio of youngsters.
Now, the programme is set to transform once more, with another fast-forward showing Lee and Lucy relocating homes, leaving behind their family dwelling that's turned into an "empty nest".
The episodes will adopt a fresh format, with each instalment unfolding in real time - a technique previously employed in certain episodes, but not consistently.
"What I'm trying to do is get the audience involved, to make them feel like they're witnessing an event that's happened. And hopefully that carries over when you're watching at home," explained Lee Mack.
