has cited Galatasaray's ambition and stature as key factors in his decision to move to Turkey. Despite strong links with Arsenal earlier in the transfer window, Sane is now set to join Galatasaray on a three-year contract. Sane's tenure at Bayern Munich is due to expire at the end of this month.

The German club had included him in their Club World Cup squad, hoping to persuade him to renew his contract, but after five years at the Allianz Arena, he is poised to embark on a new journey. Arsenal seemed to have an early advantage due to manager Mikel Arteta, who previously worked with Sane at Manchester City, sparking rumours of a potential reunion. However, it appears that Galatasaray have emerged victorious.

The Turkish club has confirmed discussions with Sane and, although the deal is not yet official, the 29-year-old has landed in Turkey and is close to finalising a lucrative three-year contract. Sane's new team will directly enter the Champions League's league phase next season after outperforming rivals Fenerbahce to clinch the Super Lig title.

He will be joining fellow German international Kerem Demirbay in Istanbul, along with ex-Premier League players such as Mario Lemina and Davinson Sanchez.

"There were many offers. But Galatasaray as a whole impressed me greatly,' Sane revealed to Turkish media. "I was very impressed by the atmosphere, by the size of the club, by how much they wanted me, by how much interest they showed in me. That's why I'm here at Galatasaray.

"The atmosphere here was always amazing. It was very, very loud. That's why I'm happy to be back. I can't wait to play my first game in front of the fans."

Sane isn't the only stalwart set to depart Bayern this summer. Thomas Muller is also moving on, having spent his entire career with the club, and has spoken about his own farewell at the Club World Cup.

"We're basically going into the tournament to win matches - and that starts with the first match, of course," the Germany international said. "The spirit is laid down, the coach has also left no questions there. He's made it clear: we want to win the thing.

""I'm just happy to be here. Obviously the nicest thing for me is being on the football pitch."

Bayern will play their first group game on June 15, with matches against Boca Juniors and Benfica to follow. If they top their group, their round of 16 tie will take place in Charlotte on June 28.
