Farm owner Jeremy Clarkson has opened up on having to make a tough decision after falling into financial difficulty. The star recently released the fourth series of the hit Prime Video show, which follows his life as a farmer as he is open and transparent about the highs and lows of tending to his 1,000-acre Diddly Squat Farm.

In the recent batch of six new episodes, the show followed Jeremy, 65, making an extravagant purchase. Forever a motorhead, the agriculturist could not help but splash the cash on a brand new tractor. He decided to buy himself a £85k Lamborghini tractor as he showed off the impressive 48 gears and 188 buttons. However, less than a year later, found himself having to auction the farm vehicle as he reportedly lost money on it.

Both Clarkson and his co-star Kaleb Cooper were present at the auction on Monday, where the tractor sold. The auction house Cheffins confirmed the expensive machinery sold for £70,500 after 62 bids.

Seeing the news on social media, one fan quizzed the former Top Gear presenter on what had gone wrong. Posting to X/Twitter, they asked: "You had to let the beast go? No way?! Dude, what happened?"

To which Clarkson candidly replied: "I'm starting to understand that when it comes to farming, you have to be sensible. Took a big financial hit on that tractor as well."

Jeremy often opens up about the harsh realities of the farming world. He recently suggested .

On social media, a fan had commented: "Have watched all of the series, they're quite entertaining. But, please don't try to tell me he earns more from farming than from Amazon Video".

Jeremy responded with his signature straightforwardness, saying: "I could earn more from selling my toe nail clippings than farming. And I have a horrible feeling that this year will be worse than ever."

Despite his apparent money woes, Clarkson is thought to be worth a fortune. There have been previous reports that the star of Clarkson's Farm could have made an eye-watering £200 million from the show. However, during the first year of the show, his land reportedly only generated £144 after costs were deducted.
