In a thrilling news, Bollywood megastar Aamir Khan has officially confirmed that he will be making a cameo in Coolie, the highly awaited Tamil action thriller with Rajinikanth. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and produced by Sun Pictures, the film already has a star-studded cast and now gets another big name on board. Aamir informed Zoom of the news in an interview with him, saying that his love and respect for Rajinikanth were the only reasons he would say yes.

Talking about the experience, Aamir had this to say, “I enjoyed doing it a lot. I am a huge fan of Rajini sir… huge fan. Have a lot of love and respect for Rajini sir. So, I did not even listen to the script. Lokesh told me that it is a movie of Rajini sir’s and that he wanted me to do a cameo, I said, ‘Done. I am doing it. Whatever it is, I am doing it.'”

Coolie: A High-Octane Action Spectacle
Coolie is a soon-to-be-released Tamil-language action thriller featuring the stellar on-screen partnership of director Lokesh Kanagaraj and megastar Rajinikanth. Soubin Shahir, Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, and Upendra feature in supporting roles. The film features Rajinikanth in the lead role of a common man hero, with the plot likely to be full of thrilling action and emotional depth.

The title teaser, which was pre-released, featured Rajinikanth fighting goons in a gritty, industrial landscape with a distinctive monochrome look, where only gold-colored hues were prominent. The teaser was received with deafening fan reactions, further building the buzz surrounding what’s touted as one of the biggest Tamil releases in 2025.

Aamir’s Emotional Comeback and Return to Screen
Aamir Khan’s return in Coolie is well-timed when he has been open about his emotional roller-coaster ride post-the lacklustre reception of Laal Singh Chaddha. He recently confessed to being “heartbroken” and even pulled out of his next film, Sitaare Zameen Par, requesting director RS Prasanna to cast Farhan Akhtar.

“I was very depressed, heartbroken and emotionally battered… I hadn’t had a failed film in a long, long time,” Aamir admitted.

His cameo in Coolie, though, is a step in the right direction and brings colossal star power to an already gigantic project. The film will be released worldwide on IMAX in 2025, and the promise is a not-to-be-forgotten cinematic experience.
