The young Indian batter Yashasvi Jaiswal was reportedly having an animated chat with head coach Gautam Gambhir for repeatedly hitting outrageous shots and getting dismissed. It may sound like an aftereffect of 2 months of T-20 cricket, but Gambhir is unlikely to comfort his players. According to a report of RevSports, Jasiwal was trying to hit almost every ball and got dismissed every time. Gambhir approached him and tried to correct him. Jasiwal obeyed and rectified it later.

As per reports, Gambhir had a lengthy chat with him while the batter spent extensive time on the nets. Even though the topic of discussion was not disclosed, it is speculated that the discussion concerned Jaiswal's batting.

Notably, Yashasvi Jaiswal was a part of the India "A" squad that played against the England Lions in the two unofficial Tests. And his performance was below par except for a half-century, as he scored  24, 64, 17, and 5. Following Rohit Sharma's departure, Jaiswal was the chosen one to take care of the opening slot, with his partner later to be decided.

Earlier, in the team huddle, coach Gambhir had made it clear that the team is not going to resent the retirements of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and R Ashwin. They will reflect their true potential no matter which big team appears. Gautam Gambhir, however, did not start great as a coach. Initially he started with a 0-3 defeat against New Zealand in the home Tests and then the frustrating BGT loss in Australia. However, the resentment resulted in Rohit Sharma getting axed from his test duties, keeping Gambhir in a much safer zone from criticisms.
