The Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad has not only shocked Gujarat but also Udaipur in Rajasthan. Four people from Udaipur, including two siblings and two villagers, were on board this London-bound flight. As soon as the news of the accident was received, a wave of grief spread throughout the city.
Tragedy of brother-sister's plan to travel
Shubh Modi (24) son and Shagun Modi (22) daughter of Pinku Modi, a marble businessman from Udaipur, were also on this flight. Both were going to visit a friend and spend a holiday in London. Shubh and Shagun, who had recently completed their MBA, were now joining hands in their father's business. Pinku Modi's family immediately left for Ahmedabad after receiving the information about the accident. It is being told that the names of Shubh and Shagun were recorded at number 98 and 99 in the passenger list.
Vardi Chand Menaria and Prakash Menaria of Rundeda village were also on board the same plane where the two chefs were returning to London . Both work as chefs in London and were returning to work after the holidays. His name is at number 90 and 91 in the list. The news of the accident has caused mourning in his village.
Government and administration active
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has canceled all his programs in view of the seriousness of the accident and has spoken to the Udaipur Collector to get the information of the affected families. The local administration is also in touch with the victim's families.
It is worth noting that Air India flight AI171 was a victim of an accident while taking off from Ahmedabad at 1:40 pm on Thursday. The flight, carrying 242 passengers, was heading to London's Gatwick Airport. All the passengers on this trip have been confirmed dead.
