Bradley Walsh humorously suggested that Paul Sinha was ready to "hand in his notice" on after an extraordinary game. The Chaser was up against four new contestants - Ian, Jennie, Gregor and Karen - all keen to pit their wits against one of the UK's top quizzers on the popular quiz show.

First up to challenge one of Britain's best quizzers was Ian, a magician hailing from London, who put on a stellar performance in the Cash Builder round.

Ian managed to secure £6,000 before going head-to-head with The Chaser, in this instance, Paul, also known as The Sinnerman. After a nail-biting face-off, Ian secured his place in the final chase, setting the shared prize pot rolling.

Next to brave the quickfire question round was Jennie, who bagged £5,000. Hoping to emulate Ian's success, her stint on the quiz show unfortunately came to a halt when she was caught by The Chaser.

She was met with Bradley's dreaded phrase: "You have been caught and for you, The Chase is over" leaving the show with nothing. The next contestant, Gregor, also fell short in his attempt to outsmart The Sinnerman, reports .

However, it was Karen who left viewers gobsmacked when she opted to take The Chaser's higher offer of a staggering £93,000. Paul quipped: "This is either brilliant news for Ian, or terrible news for Ian."

Viewers swiftly took to social media after witnessing Karen's unexpected move. "Karen didn't even flinch taking that high offer," one fan exclaimed, while another cheered: "Good girl!" A third fan chimed in, "We just cheered for her."

Despite the risk, Karen's broad knowledge shone as she effortlessly navigated her game against The Sinnerman, earning a spot in the final alongside Ian. As a result, the prize pot swelled to an impressive £100,000.

Fans urged others on X to tune in, saying: "If you're not watching #TheChase switch over quick" to catch Karen and Ian competing for the substantial cash prize. In the final chase, the quizzers achieved an impressive 16 correct answers.

In an unexpected turn of events, The Sinnerman narrowly failed to match their score with just one question remaining and a single second left on the clock. Host Bradley Walsh commented: "That was close."

Reflecting on the team's victory, The Chaser conceded: "You absolutely deserve every penny of that."

However, he confessed disappointment in losing a game worth such a significant amount, remarking: "I've cost ITV £100,000 but you don't need to care about any of that."

Brad playfully teased The Sinnerman about his subpar performance, quipping: "That's a funny way to hand in your notice."

The presenter described the game as "unbelievable" as Ian and Karen each took home £50,000.

Discussing their plans for the winnings, Ian mentioned purchasing a new car, while Karen excitedly shared her intention to take her son to the Abu Dhabi Formula One Grand Prix.
