Air India's Boeing 787 Dreamliner plane crashed in Ahmedabad on Thursday. All 241 people on board the plane died in this accident. But amidst this terrible tragedy, a woman's life stopped at a miraculous turn and a delay of just 10 minutes saved her life. This woman's name is Bhumi Chauhan, who lives with her husband in London and had recently come to India for a holiday.
How she missed the flight and saved her life
Bhumi Chauhan had to fly from Ahmedabad to London on June 12 at 1:10 pm. But due to heavy traffic in the city, she could not reach Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport on time.
Talking to the media, Bhumi said, "I was stuck in traffic and by the time I reached the airport, the boarding gate had closed. I was very sad that I missed my flight. But when I came to the exit gate, I saw on my mobile that the same flight had crashed. The ground slipped under my feet."
The grief of missing the flight then turned into another emotion - in the form of shock and wonder. When she came to know that the flight she missed crashed just five minutes after takeoff, she was stunned.
I could not believe it. I started trembling. My body became numb. I just kept thinking that if I had reached on time then...
"My Ganpati Bappa saved me"
An emotional Bhumi said: "My Ganpati Bappa saved me. I still can't believe that I am alive and with my family today. It is God's grace."
