Indian Air Force Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla is all set to create history by going into space. He is going to go to the International Space Station (ISS) under the Axium-4 mission. With this, he will become the first Indian to go to the International Space Station. In such a situation, only he is being discussed everywhere. Along with this, discussions have also started about space. By the way, people have always been crazy about space. In India, ISRO is also doing a lot of work regarding space. In such a situation, let us know about the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), which is called Asia's first space university located in India, from where students can make their career in space research by studying.

This college is the best for aerospace engineering

Recently, in a webinar held under TV9 Connect, Professor Shourie Chatterjee of IIT Delhi said that IIST is one of the best institutes in India for aerospace engineering. This institute comes under the Indian Space Research Organization i.e. ISRO, which was established in the year 2007 to prepare future space scientists and engineers.

What is the admission process?

For admission to the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), students need to get good ranks in the JEE Advanced exam. After JEE Main, students can take JEE Advanced and based on their score, IIST prepares its merit list. It is worth noting that the cut-off rank of IIST is more competitive than general engineering colleges, as it has limited seats. Students studying here have a higher chance of getting a job in ISRO.

What are the courses?

Many courses are offered at IIST at undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), and PhD level. These include a B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering and a B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering. Apart from this, dual degrees (B.Tech + MS/M.Tech) are also offered here, i.e. students can study for graduation and masters simultaneously. At the PG level, courses like M.Tech and Master of Science are offered, in which subjects like remote sensing, satellite technology, control systems, and optics are explained in detail.

Facilities and placement

IIST not only provides high-quality education, but students also get practical experience with advanced labs, research centers, and experienced faculty. After completing studies from here, students have a high chance of getting a job as a scientist or engineer in ISRO. However, it completely depends on the performance of the students as to where they will get a job.
