New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) releases the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Unergraduate (NEET UG) cut-off in the form of qualifying marks. The minimum mark that one needs to pass the medical entrance exam is the NEET UG qualifying marks 2025, which can be checked on the official website, neet.nta.nic.in.

The NEET cutoff marks 2025 are of two types, which include admission cut-off and qualifying marks. Based on the cutoff, MCC NEET counselling is conducted, and the medical colleges accept for admission.

NEET AND MARKING SCHEME

  • For every correct answer in the NEET UG exam, four marks are awarded.
  • One mark is deducted for each incorrect attempt.
  • If any of the question is not attempted, there is no negative marking.
  • The answers once marked in the OMR sheet cannot be changed by candidates.
  • Marking more than one option results in negative marking.

NEET UG Tie Breaking Policy 2025

NTA has laid down the NEET 2025 tie-breaking rules in its information bulletin, which are applicable in case there is a tie in scores of two or more candidates.

  • If there is a tie in total marks, candidates with higher marks in Biology will be given preference. As the entrance exam is held for medical admissions, candidates with strong knowledge in biological sciences get an advantage.
  • The next factor after Biology is marks in Chemistry. Those with higher marks in the subject are given preference.
  • If the tie persists, candidates with higher marks in Physics get the preference.
  • If the tie is still there, candidates with the lesser number of incorrect answers in the overall exam will be preferred.
  • If then as well the tie persists, candidates with the lesser number of incorrect responses in Biology will be preferred.
  • If the tie continues, candidates with fewer incorrect answers in Chemistry will get the chance.
  • If the tie still exists, then candidates with lesser number of incorrect answers in Physics will be higher in the merit list.
  • If the tie exists, a random process will be used to resolve it with the guidance from an independent expert committee.
