The Department of Telecommunication has made a big change in the SIM Card Rules, giving relief to crores of mobile users, under the new rules, the process of switching from a prepaid to a postpaid connection has become easier than before. The Department of Telecommunications has reduced the cooling period for switching from Prepaid to Postpaid, earlier users could not switch before 90 days but now this limit has been reduced to 30 days.

This means that now after 30 days you can easily move from prepaid to postpaid connection, once the move is done, the limit of 90 days will be applicable. This means that no person can switch again and again after switching once.

The Department of Telecommunications has worked to simplify the process of switching not only from prepaid to postpaid but also in both cases postpaid to prepaid through the OTP process. This move of the government has brought relief to those who switch their number from prepaid to postpaid and postpaid to prepaid repeatedly for some reason.

Why do people switch?

There can be many reasons for switching from prepaid to postpaid and postpaid to prepaid, the plan seems expensive and not being satisfied with the service, etc. In simple language, the new rule says that if you take a prepaid number today i.e. on June 13 and after using it for a few days, you have to switch to postpaid for any reason, then now you will be able to switch easily after 30 days, you will not have to wait for a long 90 days like before.

If for some reason you have to switch again during the lock-in period, then you can do it but for this you will have to go to the authorized outlet of the company and complete the existing KYC process.
