Clive Kundar, the co-pilot who tragically lost his life in the plane crash near Meghani Nagar in Ahmedabad on Thursday, is being remembered by friends, family, and church members as a soft-spoken, humble, and well-loved individual.

“He was a good human being, calm in nature, and mingled with everyone. Despite working as a pilot in a major airline, he never displayed any arrogance,” recalled Rev. Sam Munni, pastor of Christ Kanthi Church under the United Basel Mission (UBM) in Kurla, Mumbai.

Clive’s family has been settled in Mumbai for many years. His father, Clifford Kundar, hails from Mangaluru, and his mother, Rekha Kundar, is a native of Mumbai and a former air hostess.

Speaking to Udayavani, Pastor Munni shared that Clive would visit the church whenever he was on leave. “He actively participated in the Easter service. I met him that day. His friendly nature made him endearing to all.”

A Childhood Dream Takes Flight

Clive completed his schooling in Mumbai before pursuing pilot training in Florida, USA. After completing his rigorous training, he joined a major airline as a commercial pilot.

His passion for flying was evident from a young age. In 2010, as an SSLC student, he once asked an expert, “My name is Clive, and I’m interested in flying. If I take pilot training, is there a guarantee I’ll get a job?” This question reflected his deep interest and concern about his future prospects.

Clive worked hard to make his dream a reality. He achieved his goal through dedication and determination. Tragically, his promising journey was cut short by fate.

His passing has left a deep void among those who knew him — a reminder of how fleeting life can be, even for those soaring high.
