Aamir Khan is set to make his much-anticipated return to cinema with Sitaare Zameen Par, releasing on June 20, 2025. Directed by R.S. Prasanna and co-starring Genelia Deshmukh, the heartwarming sports comedy-drama tells the inspiring story of ten specially-abled children who are transformed into a football team by a determined coach, played by Khan.
Certified 12A, Runtime Revealed
The British Censor Board has given the film a 12A certificate, making it suitable for audiences over 12, or younger viewers accompanied by an adult. The film has a runtime of 2 hours and 35 minutes, according to Filmy View.
Expanding Theatrical Release Plans
Initially planned for a limited rollout on 1,000–1,500 screens, Aamir and his team have now opted for a nationwide release across 3,000 to 3,500 screens. The change comes after overwhelming interest from single-screen theatres and regional multiplexes, signaling strong exhibitor confidence in the film’s box office potential.

A source told Pinkvilla, “Exhibitors believe Aamir Khan’s presence and strong content will draw large weekend crowds. The film is also getting support due to its ‘No OTT’ policy.”
No OTT Release Strategy
In a recent interview with News18 Showsha, Aamir confirmed Sitaare Zameen Par will not be released on OTT anytime soon. He emphasized the importance of preserving the theatre-going experience, arguing that early online releases hurt cinema culture.
