TV actress Sana Makbul, who emerged victorious in Bigg Boss OTT 3, recently grabbed headlines no not for her roles on the TV show, but for a risky health issue. The actress recently checked into the hospital, and it has now been confirmed that she is suffering from liver cirrhosis because of autoimmune hepatitis.

A Long Health Battle
Sana also shared in an interview with Hindustan Times that she has been battling autoimmune hepatitis for some time. The condition, in which the immune system attacks the liver in error, has now progressed to liver cirrhosis. “My immune system started attacking my liver terribly and now I have been diagnosed with liver cirrhosis,” she said. In spite of the gravity of the diagnosis, Sana is determined to stay strong and positive.

Immunotherapy to Avoid Transplant

Sana is currently receiving immunotherapy treatment in hope of stabilizing her condition and avoiding a liver transplant. “The doctors and I are doing everything possible to avoid a liver transplant. That is why I embarked on immunotherapy. It is very intense and draining. Every day is tougher than the last, but I hold on to hope,” she added.
