One of those food bloggers is Tara Holland from . She shared her mushy peas recipe and revealed the list of ingredients that go into them, including mint.

She explains that homemade mushy peas always taste better than what she gets in a chippy, and that it is a dish that can actually be paired with many things, not just fish and chips. "Although fish and chips are the most famous dish to have with mushy peas, they also are a great side dish to serve with meat pies, , or any type of fried fish," she said.

To make her mushy peas, she uses fresh green peas but says frozen ones also work. She also uses scallions to add flavour and heavy cream to add richness. But there are a few other things she says you can throw in.

She says that home cooks should try adding mint to their peas. Another cook, , said that mushy peas are excellently complemented when mint is added to them. She uses just a handful of chopped mint.

Mushy peas are quick and easy to make. Firstly, you simply cook your scallions in melted butter until they are soft. Then, you add your frozen peas and cook until they have thawed.

After that, you add heavy cream, salt and pepper and cook until it's heated through, and transfer it all to a food processor. Once it has formed your desired texture, add it back into the pan.

If you want to add mint into your mushy peas, you would do this in the food processor. Simply add your handful of chopped mint leaves before blending. Alternatively, you can add the chopped mint to the pan after blending and stir it in.
